Dr. Zheng Yin, PhD, is an Assistant Professor of Computational Biology and Mathematics in Radiology at Houston Methodist and a faculty member within the Center for Precision Health at UTHealth Houston. He also serves as the Director of the Biomedical Informatics Service Core at the Houston Methodist Academic Institute. Dr. Yin is a specialist in developing advanced biostatistical algorithms and artificial intelligence methods to integrate multi-omics data, including transcriptomics, proteomics, and metabolomics, with clinical readouts and imaging at bulk, single-cell, and spatial scales.
His research program emphasizes systems pharmacology and the identification of molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegeneration and cancer. Dr. Yin has led significant studies using single-cell RNA sequencing and metabolic flux modeling to decode cellular immunity and has pioneered data analysis pipelines for drug repositioning in Alzheimer’s disease models. His work, which frequently bridges computational biology and clinical applications, has been published in high-impact journals such as Nature Cell Biology, The Journal of Neuroscience, and Nature Immunology.
Dr. Yin earned his PhD and BS degrees in Bioinformatics from Zhejiang University. He is a co-Investigator for the Biomarkers Core of the Houston Alzheimer's Disease Research Center, where he provides strategic oversight for all biostatistical and bioinformatics initiatives.
